When you are dealing with a child custody case, you might start to focus on the negatives of the situation. You might have to cope with not having your children with you on some holidays. This doesn't mean that you can't find other holidays to enjoy. In fact, there are some unconventional holidays that you might enjoy celebrating with your children. Here are a few to get you started:

June 1 of each year is National Donut Day. You and your children can go enjoy some scrumptious treats together on this day. Make a full day out of it by heading out to the park for a day in the sun or going to the movies. If you don't really want to go out, you can grab the donuts and celebrate the day at home. Many local stores have special deals on this day.

Thanksgiving week is National Game and Puzzle Week. Enjoying some board games or doing a puzzle together can help you and your child focus on each other without getting swept up in the craziness of the holiday week. If your child will be with your ex on Thanksgiving day, this holiday gives you something to celebrate around the major holiday.

April 27 is Tell a Story Day, which is a creative holiday on which you can share some of your favorite memories with your children. They can tell you stories and you can come up with some together.

Pluto's Discovery is a fun and educational holiday for children to celebrate. In 1930, Pluto was discovered on Feb. 18. You can take a trip to a planetarium to find out more about Pluto and the controversy surrounding the celestial body.

The important thing to remember is that you are spending time with your children. This time is precious, so make the most of it.
